How to enable two-factor authentication



1. Facebook

Steps to Enable 2FA:

  1. Log In: Go to facebook.com or open the Facebook app.
  2. Access Settings:
    • On desktop: Click your profile picture in the top-right corner, then go to Settings & privacy > Settings.
    • On mobile: Tap the menu (three horizontal lines) > Settings & privacy > Settings.
  3. Security Settings:
    • Navigate to Security and Login.
    • Look for Two-Factor Authentication and click Edit.
  4. Choose a Method:
    • Authentication app (e.g., Google Authenticator).
    • SMS (enter your phone number).
  5. Follow the Prompts: Complete the setup and save changes.
  6. Optional: Save recovery codes in case you lose access to your 2FA method.

2. Google (Gmail, YouTube, etc.)

Steps to Enable 2FA:

  1. Log In: Go to myaccount.google.com.
  2. Navigate to Security:
    • On the left sidebar, click Security.
    • Under "Signing in to Google," select 2-Step Verification.
  3. Start Setup: Click Get Started and log in again if prompted.
  4. Choose a Method:

    • SMS or voice call.
  5. Complete the Process: Follow on-screen instructions and confirm the setup.
  6. Backup Options: Add backup codes or an alternative phone number for recovery.

Steps to Enable 2FA:

  1. Open Instagram: Log in via the app or instagram.com.
  2. Go to Settings:
    • Tap your profile picture > the menu (three lines) > Settings and privacy.
  3. Security: Scroll down to How you use Instagram > Two-factor authentication.
  4. Select Your Method:
    • Authentication app.
    • SMS (enter your phone number).
  5. Activate: Follow the prompts to enable 2FA.
  6. Save Backup Codes: Write down or screenshot recovery codes for emergencies.

4. Twitter/X

Steps to Enable 2FA:

  1. Log In: Access your account via the app or twitter.com.

  3. Set Up 2FA:
    • Select Security > Two-factor authentication.

  1. Log In: Go to linkedin.com or use the app.

Steps to Enable 2FA:

  3. Enable 2FA: Tap Enable and set a 6-digit PIN.
  4. Optional: Add an email address for recovery.

7. TikTok

Steps to Enable 2FA:

  1. Open TikTok: Log in via the app.
  2. Navigate to Settings: Tap your profile > the menu (three lines) > Settings and privacy > Security and login.
  3. Set Up 2FA: Tap Two-step verification and select your method: SMS, email, or authentication app.
  4. Follow Prompts: Complete the setup process.

8. Apple ID

Steps to Enable 2FA:

  1. Go to Settings:
    • On iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > Your Name > Password & Security.
    • On Mac: Open System Preferences > Apple ID > Password & Security.
  2. Enable 2FA: Select Turn on Two-Factor Authentication.
  3. Verify Contact Info: Add and verify a trusted phone number.
  4. Complete Setup: Follow the prompts.



Make sure to keep backup codes or a recovery email handy to avoid being locked out of your account.
